About IT Department
Aditya Institute of Technology and Management (AITAM) established the Department of Information Technology (IT) in 2001, initially admitting 60 students. The department's intake has since expanded to 180 students. The academic strengths of the department are highly appreciated, with six faculty members holding Ph.D. degrees. Additionally, two faculty members are recognized as research supervisors by JNTU-GV, Vizianagaram, while the remaining faculty members are pursuing their Ph.D. degrees. In the academic year 2019-2020, the Department of IT was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for five years under Tier-1.
The Department of IT is proud to announce that the institution has recently achieved an NIRF ranking in the band of 201-300. Furthermore, the college was first accredited by NAAC in 2011 (Cycle-1) and was reaccredited in 2019 (Cycle-2) with an A+ Grade. The college also received TEQIP Phase-II funding under Sub-component 1.1, which has significantly enhanced the institution's prestige and contributed to improved academic standards for students. The B.Tech program in IT is approved by the AICTE and the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and the institution is affiliated with JNTUGV, Vizianagaram.
With exclusive infrastructural and technological resources, the department is proud to announce its achievements in academics, research, consultancy, and community services. These accomplishments include securing grants such as a Major Research Project from UGC, and receiving AICTE funding for various conferences and faculty development programs.
The department is headed by Dr. Ramesh Naidu Balaka and has 25 teaching faculty. 06 of our faculty members are with doctoral degree, 1 faculty member submitted his thesis and 7 are pursuing. Cadre-wise breakup of the faculty position is as under
